The one man submarine is designed and conceived by the engineers of University of Seoul in South Korea as a par t of their degree may be as their final project. The engineer’s involved in the following project were Sungchul Yang and Woonghee Han and they were awarded silver at both IDEA 2008 (a U.S. based annual design competition) and Pinup Award 2008 in South Korea for their stellar design and concept. They named the submarine AQUA, one manned submersible concept.
The AQUA paved the way for futuristic travel and defense systems also it has been aimed to provide future travel system if in future humankind decides to settle in the heart of ocean. AQUA is capable for travel both on and undersea dwelling, it has been styled to provide efficient transportation of single person to their underwater destination.
The features include an entry for pilot from the top hatch and a sliding seat in order to accommodate pilots of different size and allow easier entry. AQUA’s steering consists of a pair of joysticks for simple control of the vehicle. The submarine is equipped with single main ducted propeller mounted at the rear to provide forward thrust while the sideways movement is controlled by two small ducts on either side. However the concept submarine AQUA is not intended for commercial production but still it clearly defines the thoughts of human beings regarding living underwater.
