Facial recognition software tends to make your life easier, it correctly identify and tag respective personnel automatically. The software was out of service from year 2010 due to certain privacy issues and now facebook executives urge to bring it back.
Now what does that software do? It keeps an eye on your friend and fellows with whom you are generally tagged in photos. Now whenever you put up new photos, the software is engaged in recognizing the faces of your friends and tags them in photo precisely. It also offers you suggestion about who should you tag while tagging friends and fellows in yours or theirs photos.
When this feature was firstly launched in United States, there was more than a little backlash against the company for privacy issues. From that time it was banned and facebook had to increase the privacy customizations. Now the same feature is returning back with a modification that you can turn it off whenever you want.
