A group of researchers from Switzerland is attempting to create a realistic robot boy that has the capability to imitate physical features of human beings and bring to life a new piece of technology for future. Although we lack too much and need to study many things regarding artificial intelligence but researching, creating and developing new technologies enhances the knowledge to a great extent. Einstein said, “If you haven’t failed, you never tried anything new”. The success of humanoid robot will open new directions in the field of Robotics, Bio-medicine and Mechatronics.
Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of University of Zurich is developing the “ROBOY” which is a tendon driver humanoid robot and will ultimately be about the size of 4 year old child. As compared to the Kenshiro robot it’s the unique characteristics of replicating functions of human tendons, joints, bones and muscles that make the Roboy different. The robot making company is hoping to get funds for the construction of ROBOY and in return logo of funds donating company will be displayed on the body of robot when it’s completed next year.
The laboratory is looking forward to disclose the completed edition of the Roboy in March of 2013 at the World Congress and Exhibition of Robots, Humanoids, Cyborgs and more in Zurich.
