Sexual violence in India has reached a level that it had become a dire need for every woman working alone to have some sort of counter measure. Many solutions have been offered up till now to reduce the street violence especially sexual harassment recently it has been unveiled by technology minister Kapil Sibal that Centre for Development of advance Computing (CDAC) is working to provide nation with a gadget which is handy and cheap inorder to stop or limit such violent acts. The company has come up with a wrist watch which promises to safeguard any individual wearing it under severe conditions.
So, the question in everybody’s mind is how can actually a watch safeguards an individual? The watch will have a button which when pressed sends a SOS to the nearest located police station and also to a selected family member. The SOS contains the location of an individual who requires help, gathered by the built-in GPS system in that watch. The GPS system is active all the time and is engaged in collecting data. The company also has plans of introducing a built in video camera that will get activated when the button is pushed. The camera will be able to shoot for 30 minutes after the button is being pushed.
