Cycling has been a long time activity. People use it for exercise, as a mode of transport, maritime transport, sports and professional cycling along with other uses. People using cycles know that locking it is very important or else it gets stolen. Different kinds of locks are available in the market and new and more theft proof ones are coming in the market to enable the safety of the vehicle.
Some people use the chains to lock their cycles with a pole or any rigid structure; some use the seat lock while others remove their pedals. A new kind of lock is now available called “Quick Stand & Lock”. As the name suggests it acts as a stand as well as a lock. It has a number combination lock. This ensures that the lock does not get activated on accidental press. All that is required is enter the preset combination, and push down on the kickstand. It is designed in a curve so that the stand passed through the space between the spokes of the wheel and plants on the other side to prevent it from rolling while it is parked. The design might need to be perfected to be bolt-cutter proof. This invention was a group work between Soohwan Kim, Junho Yoon, Dohoon Lee and Hyojin Park.
