A fashion designer Anouk Wipprecht, a designer who makes technological clothes teamed up with Austrian software developer and hacker, Daniel Schatzmayr to make a dress with spider legs like mechanics. This dress has 6 legs, 3 on each side of the shoulder and they move whenever anyone gets close to the wearer.
This dress was showcased by the designer Anouk Wipprecht in November 2012 at an international robot performance festival in Prague, Czech Republic. She has made the dress with the idea of exploring issues of personal space.
Another project of Wipprecht, this time in collaboration with Marius Kintel and Jane Tingley, calling themselves the Modern Nomad (MoNo) made the daredroid which again is somehow related to getting too close to a person. It was showcased in Elektra Festival 2011.
It has tubes and which are connected to the glass shot present on the chest of the wearer. If you get real close to the wearer, LEDs will show that you have breached the personal barrier wherein the DareDroid wearer will ask you to play a game of truth or dare. Complete the game and you will be rewarded with a glass of alcoholic beverage as a reward. It is quite similar to the everyday routine in a bar.
